TEDxCoventGardenWomen is an independently organised event in London devoted to ideas worth spreading. We exist to spread ideas that change hearts, minds and lives for the better.
Taking our lead from global TED, we co-create an inclusive, accessible space and provide a high-spec, beautiful platform for people to spread ideas, share stories and address issues of gender and identity.
We draw on the experiences of an international network of speakers in order to celebrate the transformative power of women, girls and anyone who shines a light on different realities. We support our speakers and our audience to tell compelling stories of race and gender, business and technology, entertainment and design in order to inspire, provoke, change perspectives and challenge injustice.
At TEDxCoventGardenWomen, we have three values that define how we work and what we do. We invite everyone to our events – speakers, volunteers, and our audience – to share those values with us, even if it’s just for the day.
Welcome to our family
At TEDxCoventGardenWomen we are more than just a team of volunteers and speakers, we’re a family united by a passion for transformative ideas. We listen without judgement, laugh as we learn, and lean on each other to get things done.
Be here, be heard
We believe in your voice and your story. In this space, you can begin to find it, give it words, and share it with those who need to hear it. Whether a whisper or a war cry, consider this an inclusive, accessible and safe space to speak from the heart, and be heard.
Spark a change
We love a good lightbulb moment! At TEDxCoventGardenWomen, we’re big believers in changing a heart to change a whole world. Using emotional insights and hard data, we champion the unconventional, smash stereotypes and encourage new ways of thinking in order to make a personal and global change.
TED is a nonprofit organisation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson and Steve Jobbs, their talks are then made available to watch free on TED.com.
The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with the TEDActive simulcast event in nearby Whistler.

TEDx, x = independently organised event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections. With over 11,000 past events taking place – the community that follows has grown considerably, and some TEDx talks turn into TED talks.

In 2013 we launched our very first event, Unlabelled – challenging the restrictive words that promote intolerance and keep us from living more fulfilling lives. Bringing together speakers from around the world, we combined art and activism, poetry, passion and business to create an event that included voices such as Laura Bates, Leyla Hussein, and Natasha Walter.
Take a look below to see some of our favourite snaps from our 2013/2015 events, or watch our talks on YouTube.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday 29 May.
Tickets are not yet available to purchase yet. However, you can sign up to our newsletter to keep informed on ticket release dates.
